How Matteo Guendouzi has been punished since Brighton & Dani Ceballos may extend his loan from Real Madrid

Post by Floyd »

How Matteo Guendouzi has been punished since Brighton Athletic reporter David Ornstein has reported on how Arsenal have punished Matteo Guendouzi since his last appearance for the club against Brighton. Guendouzi attracted plenty of negative headlines after Brighton beat the Gunners 2-1. The young French midfielder got into a verbal confrontation with Neal Maupay in the game. Put another way, Guendouzi has been sectioned off from the rest of the Gunners first team squad for the best part of two weeks. For the record, Arsenal’s handling of Guendouzi isn’t solely a reaction to what happened against Brighton. The Athletic also reveal other instances in which the 21-year-old hasn’t impressed his superiors at the Emirates Stadium: Guendouzi was called to a meeting with Arteta and technical director Edu in the aftermath of the Brighton game but didn’t impress. This is not the first time Guendouzi has been the subject of disciplinary action by Arteta — during the warm weather training trip to Dubai in February, for example, Guendouzi’s behaviour led to him being excluded from the first-team squad for the subsequent Premier League match against Newcastle United.  Exclusive: Matteo Guendouzi has been training alone since Arsenal defeat at Brighton on June 20. #AFC keen to move on 21yo France midfielder, offering him as swap/sale. That’s lead the Atheltic to conclude that Guendouzi could be sold this summer. Readers are told: Arsenal have also explored the possibility of using him in a swap deal in the forthcoming transfer window. The club are due to meet with Guendouzi’s representatives in the coming days to discuss the situation. Dani Ceballos may extend his loan from Real Madrid Where will Dani Ceballos be in 2020-21? Ceballos is on loan with the Gunners until the end of the season from Real Madrid. However, as detailed in the Times on Tuesday, Ceballos could extend his loan deal to remain with the Gunners for another 12-months. The Times confirm: Arsenal are not thought to be interested in a permanent deal and Real could be open to loaning him out for another season.  Previously, it’s been claimed that Arsenal shelled out 15 million pounds to retain Ceballos for the current campaign. It’s unclear how much Arsenal would need to fork out to keep Ceballos next season. However, when Valencia were linked with a move for Ceballos only a month ago, reports in Spain claimed that Valencia would need to stump up 10.5 million euros (€6.5m wages, €4m fee) to make the deal happen.   Also see: Crystal Palace vs Chelsea FC live streaming & betting tips.
